An acceptance letter from a recognized educational institution in Singapore is your first step towards obtaining a student visa.
Ensure your passport has at least six months' validity from the intended date of entry into Singapore.
Provide recent passport-sized photographs adhering to the specified dimensions.
Demonstrate your ability to cover tuition fees, living expenses, and other costs during your stay in Singapore. This could include bank statements, scholarship letters, or sponsorship documents.
Submit transcripts, diplomas, and certificates to verify your academic qualifications.
Undergo a medical examination at a recognized clinic and submit the required medical report.
Complete the student visa application form, available on the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website.
Visa Application Process
Once accepted by a Singaporean educational institution, you will receive an offer letter.
Your institution will apply for a Student Pass on your behalf through the Student's Pass Online Application & Registration (SOLAR) system.
Upon approval, you will receive an IPA letter via email.
Arrive in Singapore within the validity period stated in the IPA letter. Complete the required medical examination and collect your Student Pass.

Documents Required for Singapore Student Visa

- A current, clear, and valid passport with a minimum validity of three months.
- Completed student visa application forms:
- Form 16 (the main application for student pass)
- Form V36 (for additional applicant information)
- Original receipt confirming payment of the visa application fee.
- An invitation letter issued by the Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) in Singapore.
- Bank statements demonstrating your ability to finance your education in Singapore, covering both tuition fees and living expenses.
- Bank loan sanction letter (if applying for a student loan), along with proof of investments, if requested by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
- Transcripts of your academic qualifications, including degrees, diplomas, or certificates obtained from previous educational institutions in India.
- Relevant test scores required by your chosen college, such as GMAT, TOEFL, GRE, PTE, etc.
- Documentation outlining how you intend to cover all associated living costs while in Singapore.
Singapore Student Visa Processing Time
The processing time for a Singapore student visa is approximately 10 working days or two weeks from the date of application. However, it’s worth noting that during the peak season, typically between July and August, processing times may be extended due to a high volume of student visa applications.
Cost of a Singapore Student Visa
Acquiring a student visa for Singapore from India usually amounts to around ₹6,000. This includes various fees:
- Processing fee per application: S$30 (₹1,862)
- Issuance fee for a Student Pass: S$60 (₹3,725)
- For those intending to travel between Singapore and their home country during the course duration, an additional charge of S$30 (₹1,862) for a multiple-entry visa is applicable.
- The maximum charge for a Singapore study visa is S$120, equivalent to ₹7,450.
