Canada Migration on PR Visa

Canada immigration from India

Canada offers a range of immigration programs that are designed to cater to different types of applicants. These programs have varying eligibility criteria and requirements. Some of the main pathways for Indians to immigrate to Canada include:

  • Express Entry Program: This is a points-based system that is designed to attract skilled workers to Canada. Candidates are assessed on factors such as age, language proficiency, education, and work experience. Those who score the highest points are invited to apply for permanent residency.
  • Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs): Canada’s provinces and territories have their own immigration programs that are designed to cater to their specific labor market needs. Each program has its own eligibility criteria and requirements.
  • Family Sponsorship: Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor their family members to immigrate to Canada. This includes spouses, common-law partners, dependent children, parents, and grandparents.
  • Business Immigration: Canada has several programs that are designed to attract entrepreneurs, investors, and self-employed individuals. These programs require a minimum net worth and investment in Canada.
  • Refugee and Humanitarian Resettlement: Canada is known for its compassionate approach to refugees and humanitarian crises. The country has a robust refugee resettlement program that offers support and assistance to those in need.

Overall, Canada offers a range of immigration programs that cater to different types of applicants. Whether you are a skilled worker, entrepreneur, or refugee, there may be a pathway for you to immigrate to Canada.

Immigrate to Canada – Express Entry

Express Entry is a highly popular immigration program in Canada that was launched in 2015. It is the world's first points-based system used for evaluating the eligibility of individuals who want to immigrate to Canada.

The program is administered by the Federal Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and the visa processing time can take up to six months or less.

To create an Express Entry profile, you'll need to score at least 67 points based on factors such as language proficiency, education, work experience, age, and other criteria.

Immigrate to Canada – PNP

If you choose the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) to apply for your PR visa, here are the steps you need to follow:

  • Apply in the province or region where you want to settle down.
  • You can be nominated by the province for a PR visa if your profile meets the eligibility criteria.
  • After getting nominated by a province, you can apply for your PR visa.
  • While applying under the PNP, you can choose a province that is more likely to nominate you based on your profile.
  •

A provincial nomination under the Canadian PNP can help you in two ways:

  • Make you eligible to apply for your permanent residence directly to IRCC.
  • Automatically add 600 points to your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score as "additional" points.

Immigrate to Canada – QSWP

If you are interested in immigrating to Quebec permanently to work, the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) might be the right choice for you. Unlike other Canadian provinces, Quebec has its own selection criteria for skilled workers. To start the process, you must declare your interest in immigrating to Quebec. If you have the necessary training and professional skills, you may be selected by Quebec and issued an invitation to apply through the Arrima Portal.

The QSWP is points-based, like the Express Entry System, and does not require applicants to have a valid job offer to migrate to Quebec, although those with a job offer are given higher priority. Quebec is not part of the Canadian PNP or the federal Express Entry system.

At Migration Review Education, we can help you determine your eligibility for the QSWP and guide you through the application process. Our experienced counselors are dedicated to helping you achieve your migration goals and will support you every step of the way.
